We we would like to thank all ten of you who read the first annabelle issue. Our e-mailbag has been filled with letters of encouragement and only two people demanding to be taken off our mailing list.
Blume's Clues
Much to our amusement, people were a tad disturbed over the English class article and the popularity of the book Forever amongst fourth graders. We have now ruined the reputations of primary-schoolers across the country.
Who were the precocious rascals reading Judy Blume's Forever before Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaretputting the cart before the horse, if you'll pardon the expression, don't ya think?
-Ethel, Butte, MT
Ethel, we can't help it that our reading public is a little on the slutty side. We think that you might want to re-read Forever and enjoy its classic story of first love with lots of veiled references to orgasms and boy's twigs and berries. Give it a chance! Just look at the poetry of this dialogue between the lovers:
"Remember last night when I said I loved you?"
"Yes."
"Well... I really meant it... it's not just the sex thing... that's part of it... but its more than that... you know?"
"I know... because I love you too."
"Forever?" he asked.
"Forever."Give Peace A Chance
I must disagree with A Separate Peace being on the unloved book list. Read it again as an adult, and be unnerved by its darkness. I loved it so much that I named my big fat cat Phinny after its tragic hero!

I loved annabelle. Loved it. I even laughed out loud a few times.

Bardolators Unite!
My favorite part of annabelle was the Shakespeare article. I too wanted to be British as a child. I watched British movies and practiced a British accent faithfully. When I went shopping with my "mum" I sometimes spoke with a British accent hoping that strangers in the store would be convinced that I was from England. My mother wonders where I came from. She says that I don't have an American bone in my body.

We're not hiring, if that's what you are asking.
I like your format, and my favorite section was the home ec one. I'd love to see more fun projects. How about a math sectionI'm not sure what that would be, I'd just like to see what you come up with?
-E, Princeton, NJ
How about some film/movie/food reviews. Oh, and of course TV reviews. And an advice column for the young, love-struck and confused.
-Billy, Austin, TXBilly, you might enjoy our new column by Miss Lonelyhearts, she promises to heal your soul.
Egregious Use Of Punctuation

"Faithfully" is a beautiful song!! "Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin' " is a CLASSIC!! You can FEEL THE PAIN of "Separate Ways"!!! Why the hate?!?!
